Miratorg Agro-industrial complex uses modern technologies in crop production to increase crop yields — Miratorg — Crops
Miratorg agro-industrial holding, the largest grain producer in Russia, harvested 741 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops in the fields in the Orel region in 2021, which is 7% more than last year. The increase in the gross harvest of cereals and legumes is due to the expansion of acreage, including through the introduction of abandoned land into circulation.

In order to develop the crop production area, Miratorg systematically invests in every stage of crop production: from the production of its own seeds and as a result of clean seed material to the development of infrastructure for timely and effective harvesting of the resulting crop. To this end, the company launched its own seed breeding center in the Orel region and built seven grain drying complexes.

The company uses an integrated approach to increasing the efficiency of farmland and the most modern world technologies in crop production. Recultivation of acreage by clearing restores the natural fertility of the soil. Within three to five years, fertility in such areas increases significantly, an arable horizon is formed, and the humus content in the soil increases. Technological operations are aimed at increasing yields and preserving fertility. Equipment with low-pressure tires prevents compaction of the soil layer and its degradation. The trailed units work according to the technology of non-tillage tillage and prevents wind and water erosion of the fertile layer.

All technological operations on the field are reduced to a minimum number of passes of equipment. For this purpose, combined aggregates are mainly used, which combine several operations into one, for example, disking, deep loosening, cultivation and rolling. In one pass, the soil is completely ready for sowing, excluding unnecessary passages. The company uses special sowing complexes with the minimum possible row spacing. This is necessary so that the plants are evenly distributed and cover the soil as quickly as possible from the penetration of sunlight, excluding overheating and desiccation, excessive moisture loss.

In 2021, the yield of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 70 kg/ha in the initially recorded weight. The agricultural holding is interested in getting a high yield every year, therefore, it contributes all the necessary macro and microelements to nourish the soil every year. Organic fertilizers from our own livestock sites increase soil fertility. Mineral fertilizers are used to compensate for the removal of nutrients from the crop.Their concentrations are calculated strictly according to the planned yield in order not only to reduce the risk of crop loss, but also not to harm the environment. For plant protection, the company uses original preparations from leading European manufacturers and is increasing the use of biologics, which now account for 50%.

To meet the growing feed needs of livestock divisions, as well as for commercial implementation, the agroholding plans to continue to increase the acreage, and will also continue to invest in improving soil quality, and, consequently, crop yields.
