Miratorg has increased the number of staff working on its cattle facilities by 16% since the beginning of the year – now a total of 5,500 staff.
Bryansk, 30th September 2016. Miratorg – Russia's largest producer of popular types of meat – has announced that due to huge increases in its operations in the Kaliningrad Region, the number of its employees there rose by 23% this year, reaching an overall total of 1,400 staff. Miratorg, as part of its interregional project to increase high-quality beef production in the Bryansk, Orlovsk, Kaluga, Tula, and Smolensk Regions, and has increased its overall national staffing levels during 2016, creating a total of over 800 new jobs since the beginning of the year.
Creating new jobs in Russian Regions, which offer decent wages and social security is one of the key priorities of Miratorg's social responsibilities. Today, the average salary of Miratorg employee within the framework of its interregional cattle-farming projects is at the level of 30,000 roubles. The increases in staffing have arisen due to the launch of new product lines in the meat-processing sector, in addition to the opening of new livestock farming facilities in the Bryansk and Smolensk Regions. The company centres on ongoing professional development for its staff, and regularly organises training programs led by leading Russian and foreign companies. The company operates its own training centre, The Meat Business Academy, with a throughput of over 200 students each year. This enables staff to acquire new skills, raise the level of their qualifications – whether they are young specialists, or established professionals.
Sergey Kulikovsky, CEO of Miratorg division in Bryansk, said: “Of course appreciate that the economy doesn't grow if you don't create new jobs. And they need to be jobs which really meet society's needs, that offer decent wages, and are based on producing high-quality goods. Our hiring program is aimed at all categories of the population – from the graduates of top universities and colleges, people who are unemployed, and specialists with experience. We don't count the pennies when it comes to improving the qualifications of our staff, because we realise that well-trained staff are the major factor for success and economic effectiveness in a meat-producing company”.
Miratorg began its vertically-integrated system from the production of top-quality beef “from scratch” in Russia – and has now built up its herds of premium Aberdeen Angus cattle to a total of over 430,00 head of herd. The company is actively involved in increasing its production of livestock through interregional projects, and now has livestock centres at over 80 farms in the Smolensk, Kaluga, Tula, Bryansk, and Orlov Regions.
