Miratorg holds All-Russian beef festival “Russian Rodeo” in Bryansk region
Bryansk, September 10 – Miratorg holds All-Russian beef festival “Russian Rodeo” on Ledenevo farm in Bryansk region. Teams from Bryansk, Kaluga, Kalinigrad and even Brazil competed in the traditional cowboy challenges as calf-roping, team-penning and three barrels.
Miratorg, Russia largest beef producer, has built its beef operations from the scratch and within less than 10 years set up over 80 farms to raise the beef cattle of Aberdeen Angus breed in Bryansk, Kaliningrad, Tula, Smolensk, Oryol and Kaluga regions with a herd excceding 600 000 heads.
“The Russian Rodeo” traces its history back to 2014 and g attracted over 7 000 visitors this year. The Rodeo is a cowboy’s professional contest; the events are directly mirrors day-to-day operations: cattle roping, sorting, moving and herding cattle. The jury evaluates a balance of speed, quality, safety and level of stress to animals.
The team of Russia’s westernmost region performed the Rodeo’s history all-time record speed in two events – “calf-roping” and “loading cattle to a trailer”. Following the contest results, one of the Kaliningrad cowboys, the senior operator Artem Palamarchuk, was proclaimed the best roper.
