Miratorg invests 4.6 billion roubles into increase of simultaneous cattle finishing capacity by 70% to 200 thousand heads

Bryansk, June 27 – ABH Miratorg, being the largest beef producer of Russia, reports about the investment of 4.6 billion roubles into increase of simultaneous cattle finishing capacity by 70% to above 200 thousand heads.

Agribusiness Holding started construction of the third feedlot with the capacity of 80 thousand heads in Sevsk district of Bryansk region. The Feedlot is a key element of the production chain: at this site during 200 days the cattle are fed with grain ration which determines the quality of marbled beef.

Miratorg continues to expand the production of high-quality beef: the cattle population already exceeds 600 thousand heads and will grow to 1 million heads by 2024. The Company schedules to deliver cattle from the farms, which are situated in Bryansk, Oryol, Smolensk, Tula and Kaliningrad regions, on a daily basis for their finishing. Besides, according to the Company’s plans, at the new feedlot there will be fattening of bulls, obtained as a result of crossing Aberdeen Angus with Japanese Wagyu breed, which is characterized by super-high marbling of meat. The design of the new feedlot was developed taking into account the special aspects of maintenance and finishing of this breed: a special ration, a longer period of stay on the feedlot and less mobility of animals. It is planned that Miratorg’s Wagyu beef will be supplied to the domestic market and for export.

The total area of the feedlot is over 349 hectares, which includes 14 covered lines for cattle with slatted concrete floors, a storehouse for concentrated and loose feed and premixes, an administrative building, a garage, an animal treatment facility, a veterinary hospital, a water intake facility, etc. For design and construction of facilities, the company used the experience of world leaders of beef cattle breeding – the USA and Canada. The new production site will also provide the creation of 84 jobs.

The Feedlot is a key element of the production chain and large-scale investments in this field reflect our desire to give the best product to the consumer.
