Miratorg invests 4.97 bln roubles in Europe’s largest cattle feedlot, plans Wagyu feeding
Moscow, October 10 – Miratorg, Russia’s leading beef producer, invests 4.97 bln roubles in Europe’s largest feedlot with a capacity of 80 thousand heads. The facility is also designed for grain feeding of Wagyu cattle to produce super marbled beef for export.
Miratorg has already invested over 80 bln roubles in creating from scratch Europe’s largest vertically integrated production of high-quality beef “from field to fork” based in Bryansk region. The company owns the world’s largest herd Aberdeen-Angus cattle breed – over 600 thousand heads and aims to further expand the stock to 1 million heads by 2021. The feedlot is the key element of the production chain: cattle are fed with grain there for 200 days and over 500 days for Wagyu to ensure the highest possible “marbling” grade. The cattle for the new feedlot will be shipped from the farms in Bryansk, Oryol, Kaluga, Smolensk, Tula and Kaliningrad regions. The new production site will also create 84 jobs.
