Miratorg invests 6 bln roubles in industrial lamb production in Tula region
						Moscow, October 10 – Miratorg, Russia’s leading meat producer, invests 6 bln roubles to build from the scratch industrial lamb production in Tula region.
The company signs the investment agreement with the region's government to build two closed-type sheep breeding complexes for confinement all-year-round maintenance of highly productive livestock in the amount of 60,000 heads of ewes.
Miratorg considers upscaling its industrial lamb project to 1,3 million heads per year or 34 000 tons of products. The project implies construction of 12 farms and slaughtering and processing facility with a total investment over 27 bln roubles.
The first two sheep breeding farms of the holding will be allocated in Teplo-Ogarevsly district. The usage of advanced technologies in the industrial sheep breeding will allow to produce up to 134 thousand heads of commercial animals at these two sites and to sell up to 6.6 thousand tons of meat in live weight per year.
Miratorg has already invested over 4.7 billion roubles in 8 cattle farms in Tula region since 2016 with a total population of over 34 thousand heads. The establishment of two full-cycle sheep farms will effectively allow expanding the assortment of the products provided by the company both for the internal and the external markets.
The launch of new enterprises in the region will promote the social and economic development of the region: 150 new workplaces with respectable wages and a full package of benefits will be created in the district for local citizens. The creation of sheep farms will also provide additional tax revenues into the budgets of all levels.
