Miratorg launches construction of Russia’s most advanced processing plant in Kursk region
Miratorg has invested over 200 billion rubles in construction from scratch of the vertically-integrated production of the main types of meat: poultry, pork and beef. The new meat packing plant in Oktyabrsky district of Kursk region is a part of the project for doubling the pig production division capacity up to 1 million tons of pork in live weight per year which will allow to cover almost completely Russia’s demands of imported chilled pork.
Investments in the “pig production doubling” project will amount to over 160 billion rubles of which over 68 billion rubles is the cost of the robotic meat packing plant which will be capable of processing 4,5 million head of pigs per year.
The production complex for slaughter and deep processing near Chernytsyno settlement, Oktyabrsky district, Kursk region will ensure creation over 5000 new work places in the region. The first line of the plant which is deep processing of meat will be put into operation as early as in 2020, and in 2021 Miratorg will launch the pig slaughter and deboning complex.
“This project is a constituent part of solving by Holding of the strategic task on doubling the pig breeding division capacity up to 7.7 million head per year. Besides the meat packing plant, the grain company will be established, the production of compound feeds will be launched and new pig breeding complexes will be built in Kursk region. This project integrally completes the pig production division already existing capacity and allows to multiply the high quality meat products assortment and scope of supply to the market, thus essentially increasing their availability for consumers throughout the country” said President of “Miratorg” Viktor Linnik at the solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the new meat packing plant.
