Miratorg to launch 5 new farms in Cmolensk and Tula regions before the end of 2016
Bryansk, November 17th – Miratorg, the leading operator of Russia‘s meat market, plans to launch before the end of 2016 five new beef cattle farms in Smolensk and Tula regions thus increasing the total number of farms by 8% to 61.
Miratorg has developed from scratch the vertically- integrated production of high quality beef with the world’s largest cattle-herd of Aberdeen Angus breed exceeding 460 thousand heads. The company continues construction of the new cattle raising farms in Bryansk, Orel, Kaluga, Smolensk, Tula, Kaliningrad regions within the framework of the interregional project for increase of the livestock number up to 1 million head by 2020.
The project is based on the high technology farms with complete “cow-calf” production cycle: from the maternal herd with the best genetics to the unique stress-free system of cattle breeding on the open pastures. The Agribusiness Holding is actively developing the new territories – new farms will be started up by the end of the year in Khislavichsky district of Smolensk region and in Chernsky, Odoyevsky and Belyovsky districts of Tula region. Startup of the new sites will not just allow enhancing of the rate of high quality beef production in these districts but also creates more than 150 new jobs for the rural population as well as additional tax payments to the local budgets. For construction of the new farms and to provide the feed base within the framework of the expansion project the company has already introduced into agricultural turnover more than 17,5 thousand hectares of land. Now all the commissioning works on the sites are coming to an end and all the utility lines are being connected.
“Construction of new sites and development of territories is caused by growth of the livestock number. This year the Agribusiness Holding will receive an unprecedented for domestic beef cattle raising industry calf crop- more than 145 thousand calves will be born on the farms, which is 45 % more in comparison with the previous year. Besides, by construction of the new sites we create additional jobs with respectable salary and all social safeguard, we return derelict lands into crop rotation, pay taxes thus replenishing budgets of the districts. We have been enlarging the number of beef cattle raising sites. By doing so Miratorg will intensify development of the project for production of domestic quality beef and will move closer to solution of the problem of ensuring of the food security of Russia”, said Director General of LLC “Bryansk Meat Company” Sergey Kulikovsky.
